What We Believe
We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, 2 Timothy 3:16-17. It is our guide in all things concerning our worship of God and living a life that is pleasing to Him. We believe the New Testament is the guide for all Christians today. Jesus Christ is the head of the church, Colossians 1:18; Elders are to shepherd the local congregation, 1 Peter 5:1-3; Deacons are to serve in appointed areas of the congregation's work, Acts 6:1-6; preachers are to preach the word, 2 Timothy 4:1-2; and every member is to serve others as God has blessed them, 1 Peter 4:10.
We believe worship on Sundays is to consist of singing, Colossians 3:16; praying, 1 Thessalonians 5:17; communion, Acts 20:7; giving, 1 Corinthians 16:1-2; preaching/teaching God’s truth in love, Ephesians 4:15.
We believe the Bible is clear on what one must do in order to obtain salvation from our sins. We must believe Jesus is the Son of God, John 20:30-31; confess our faith in Jesus, Romans 10:9-10; repent of our sins, Luke 13:3; and be immersed into Christ for the forgiveness of our sins, Acts 2:38. When we have obeyed Christ in baptism we must arise and walk in newness of life, Romans 6:4, and remain faithful unto death, Revelation 2:10.
